Lift-Frame Bearing Spool Feeder Box model preview, default size 160 × 240 × 245 mm, 7 parts
7 partsSTL + STEPMillimetersVersion 1.0.1

At least 275 mm of clearance is needed above to lift the rack out; do not lift the rack before the filament is withdrawn.

Complete bearings and screw heads/nuts are purchased parts; they are not shown in the preview and must not be left out or replaced by printed parts.

20 mm screw shank under the head; the nut here must be 4 mm thick (do not use the 4.7 mm tall ISO 4032).

01 / SPECIFICATIONS

Specifications

See the default structure and usable space.

The actual double-flange roll width, flange diameter and current wound diameter set the support spacing and feed hole height. The four bearings have fixed inner races and rolling outer races; ring holes at both ends let fingers reach in from outside the roll to lift the stand. All 7 printed parts are included; bearings and metal screws and nuts must be bought; moisture sealing or drying are not verified.

04 / PRINT & ASSEMBLY

Printing and assembly

Check slicing and fit after downloading.

  1. 7 printed parts in total: 1 case, 1 lift-ring inner frame, 1 drop-in lid and 4 inner race front spacer rings (OD7.8 / ID5.4 / 0.8 mm thick). All downloaded parts are generated for the current 160 × 240 × 245 mm configuration; do not scale the whole package.
  2. Buy before printing: 4 × 625 bearings (inner diameter 5 / outer diameter 16 / width 5 mm; the supplied inner race shoulder must accommodate an OD7.8 washer ring), 4 × M5×20 ISO 7380-1 hex button-head screws (head diameter ≤ 9.5 / head height ≤ 2.75 mm), 4 × DIN 934 M5 hex nuts (AF ≤ 8 / 4 mm thick). 20 mm screw shank under the head; the nut here must be 4 mm thick (do not use the 4.7 mm tall ISO 4032). The M5s are four short axles; no long axle or linkage is needed; screws go outward from the middle of the roll, and nuts go inward from outside the end seats.
  3. The four bearing centers are at X = ±32.5, Y = ±40, Z = 16 mm; roll width drives X, support spacing drives Y, and wall/floor drive Z. The fixed stack is front spacer 0.8 + bearing 5 + rear shoulder 0.6 + end seat 14 mm; the M5×20 passes through the 4 mm nut with 0.1 mm showing, and standard hardware is not scaled with roll width.
  4. Only suits reels with a complete 5 mm wide round flange at each end: total width 70, flange diameter 210, current wound outer diameter 190 mm. The four bearing outer races support the flanges; the roll center is 121.68 mm above the base; 0.6 mm of sideways clearance at each end axially. Not a universal holder for any tapered, single-flange, damaged-flange or very heavy roll.
  5. The vertical feed slot is 2.8 mm wide with its upper and lower end centers 172.56–217.56 mm above the base, covering 1.75 mm filament leaving tangentially forward in a straight line from the top of measured wound diameters of 100–190 mm; using up filament within the range needs no reprinted case; below the minimum diameter, open the lid or redesign. The holes are not sealed interfaces, with no automatic feeding or tension mechanism; check hole friction and spool turning resistance before use.
  6. Assembly order: with the empty rack on the desk, insert four nuts from outside, place the four inner race front spacer rings and four bearings, then insert M5×20 from inside and clamp only the inner races; check the outer race still turns, then lower the rack into the case, drop the spool in, thread the free filament end and close the lid. Complete bearings and screw heads/nuts are purchased parts; they are not shown in the preview and must not be left out or replaced by printed parts.
  7. To change rolls, first pull back the threaded end and take the lid off along Z; fingers come down beside X = ±55 into the ring holes and pass outward through them; lift the whole stand with the roll, and lift the old roll straight up off the desk. At least 275 mm of clearance is needed above to lift the rack out; do not lift the rack before the filament is withdrawn. Not a locking travel case; no drop or tip-over retention is promised.
  8. Print the case and inner frame flat on their bases; print the locating lid flipped, and the four spacer rings rotated 90° about Y and lying flat. Supports/bridging of the ring holes and cross nut cavities, rolling resistance, lift ring load and fastener crack resistance await slicing and real testing; check slicing before printing, and test-fit key mating parts. Not a sealed moisture-proof box, food container or heat-drying box, and not designed for the original brand box or dryer.

Import into your slicer in millimeters and check build volume, orientation and supports for each part. Test-print lids, drawers and connectors first, and print the full set once the fit is confirmed.
