04 / PRINT & ASSEMBLY

Printing and assembly

Check slicing and fit after downloading.

  1. Four separate parts; supply 6 M3 screws and 6 DIN 934 nuts (nominal 5.5 mm across flats, 2.4 mm thick). Screw head outer diameter ≤ 6 mm, height ≤ 3 mm; choose length by the current stack size; the tail must not protrude from the bottom.
  2. First fit 2 nuts from the underside of the reel core, lay the middle of the cable in the through slot and lead the two ends out in opposite directions; align the two holes of the upper stop plate and fix it with 2 M3 screws.
  3. Fit the reel core over the base shell's locating post, drop the cable into the top openings on both sides, and leave the connectors outside; the ring lid slips down over the handle, aligns with the four corner holes and is fixed with 4 sets of M3 screws/nuts.
  4. Turn the handle to wind the cable, leaving slack at both ends; pull both ends to let out cable. To take it apart, remove the four corner screws and the ring lid, then lift the reel core; no spring rewind, locking or sealing mechanism.
  5. Choose the reel core by the cable maker's minimum bend radius; not for live high-load cables, optical fiber or fragile cables. Connectors do not enter the winding cavity; before use, check the actual cable length capacity, smoothness and friction.
  6. The base shell, reel core, upper stop plate and ring lid each print flat side down; check the blind hole and nut pocket bridges when slicing. Deburr the cable exit and slot edges, and check hardware loosening and the 0.4 mm rotation clearance.

Import into your slicer in millimeters and check build volume, orientation and supports for each part. Test-print lids, drawers and connectors first, and print the full set once the fit is confirmed.
