Organize thin film/paper rolls on the kitchen counter, changing rolls with a lift-out reel and pulling the film out under the high rail. Fully printed rails and a split guard hold a standard MARTOR 45.60 blade; the dedicated axle and sliders are included in the package; set by actual roll width, diameter and core, with service zones at both ends for easy assembly.

04 / PRINT & ASSEMBLY

Printing and assembly

Check slicing and fit after downloading.

  1. 4 complete printed parts: 1 one-piece roll holder/cutting slot/high square rail frame, 1 double-flange reel, 1 blade front clamp slider and 1 rear guard slider. Rails and axles are all in the files; no custom metal rails or long axles needed.
  2. Required purchase: 1 complete MARTOR No. 45 (45.60) blade, 39 × 18.5 × 0.30 mm; 2 × DIN 912 M3×10 fully threaded socket head screws (head Ø5.5 × 3 mm, HS2.5); 2 × DIN 934 M3 hex nuts (AF5.5 × 2.4 mm). Do not use snapped-off blades, other thicknesses or arbitrary blade strips. Purchased parts are not shown in the preview and are not included in the STL/STEP.
  3. Roll width 260, outer diameter 50 mm; axle Ø28 mm; the actual roll core inner diameter must be 28.8–30 mm. With the axle through it, the whole roll drops into the U-supports from above, with both flanges outside the supports; lift straight up to change rolls; the core size is not guessed from brand.
  4. Without a roll fitted, park the blade carrier in the right-hand service zone. Lay the complete blade diagonally at 45° along its long edge into the front clamp's shallow seat, support the blade and slide the front clamp horizontally onto the square rail from the front; close the rear cover from behind. Put both nuts into the rear hex pockets and tighten 2 M3×10 screws from the front with an HS2.5 hex key. Fit the roll only after the blade is clamped and the track slides.
  5. To change the blade, take off the roll first; in the right-hand service recess support the front clamp and blade, loosen 2 screws and remove the rear guard, then take the front clamp with the blade out horizontally forward; do not slide the blade out sideways through the middle cutting slot. Follow the blade maker's instructions when handling bare blades; the guard is not child-safety certified.
  6. The film leads from the top of the roll to the front platform and passes under the rail; the platform is 59 mm high; once the rear guard drops by gravity there is a 0.8 mm film entry gap, and the blade tip enters the 2 mm wide slot 2 mm deep. Hold down the film on both sides, slide once from right to left, take the cut piece and return to the right end without cutting. Slider center range −159 to 159 mm; the full blade passes the roll edges at both ends.
  7. 6 × 10 mm slide rails, 0.35 mm single-side clearance left and right in the slot, 0.7 mm total upward float; 0.3 mm blade edge gap; fixing hardware and blades do not scale with the box size. The screw tail extends 0.9 mm past the rear guard; all printed parts must use the same parameters.
  8. A prototype for storing thin paper/film rolls and cutting them by hand. Check slicing and test-print before printing; before use, check cutting quality, clamping force, rail stiffness/friction and guarding.
  9. With the frame base down, the high rail needs supports and a long-span warp check; blade clips/guards can lie flat side down; measure after cleaning the shallow seat. Check the long frame and axle against your bed width; do not scale the hardware interfaces with the whole package.
  10. Colors: cream frame/copper clamp/sage guard, light gray frame/lake blue axle/coral clamp, light sand frame/misty purple clamp; colors do not change assembly.

Import into your slicer in millimeters and check build volume, orientation and supports for each part. Test-print lids, drawers and connectors first, and print the full set once the fit is confirmed.
