04 / PRINT & ASSEMBLY

Printing and assembly

Check slicing and fit after downloading.

  1. Lenses must stand upright with a rear cap on, maximum diameter including the dial ≤ 70 mm; 1 mm clear per side; the bottom and side contact faces are isolated by 2.4 mm soft liners. Bare lenses and protruding bare mounts must not face down onto supports.
  2. Print the rigid compartment and TPU soft cups flat side down separately; the soft cup sits on the compartment floor with a 0.4 mm per side sliding fit, its top 2 mm above the rigid compartment. Test-print tolerances and soft materials first; do not force tight matching parts in.
  3. Windows on both sides let you grip the lens barrel, and empty soft cups can be lifted out by the exposed edges; take the glasses out before removing the cup. Elasticity, shrinkage, scratching and tipping of tall lenses have not been measured; do not carry the base compartment with a lens by its soft liner.
  4. This is upright storage on a desk or fixed drawer; it does not clamp lenses and offers no drop protection, lens dust protection or universal brand fit.

Import into your slicer in millimeters and check build volume, orientation and supports for each part. Test-print lids, drawers and connectors first, and print the full set once the fit is confirmed.
