Through Lock Post Swing-Out Tower model preview, default size 220 × 150 × 165 mm, 13 parts
13 partsSTL + STEPMillimetersVersion 1.0.1

Not for fine threads, powders, bare hooks or liquids; the fan slot walls and the long printed axle need review with an interface sample and support/layer direction check.

Pinch from both sides along the item's 20 mm direction with two Ø10 fingers; do not force out a closed tray that is still covered by the fixed plate.

At least 175 mm of free working space is needed above to pull out the whole lock post; when working near a shelf board, first move the whole tower horizontally to a desk with clearance; do not treat lifting the pin a few millimeters as releasing every level.

01 / SPECIFICATIONS

Specifications

See the default structure and usable space.

Users on the original site clearly needed the rotating tray not to open accidentally while carrying a toolbox, and wanted removable dividers. Original slotted fixed plates and a full-height lift-and-turn corner lock post; turn out one level for daily use while the others stay in place; all long axles, retaining caps, cross keys and inner trays are printed; standard M3s are only for initial assembly. Suggested colors: lavender body, light cream inner trays, cool gray shelves and dark lock heads; restricted original CAD is not copied. Software prototype; load-bearing and transport retention not verified with real items.

04 / PRINT & ASSEMBLY

Printing and assembly

Check slicing and fit after downloading.

  1. Full printed BOM, 13 parts: 1 base spine frame, 3 independent swing-out trays, 3 closed-bottom cell trays, 3 fixed cover shelves, 1 main axle with bottom head, 1 main axle retaining cap and 1 full-height lift-and-turn lock post. All stops, ridge slots and cross keys are printed in one piece; no missing axles, springs, magnets or cut parts.
  2. The only required purchases are 1 DIN 912 M3×12 fully threaded socket head screw (coarse 0.5, head Ø5.5 × 3, HS2.5) and 1 DIN 934 M3 hex nut (AF5.5 × 2.4, coarse 0.5). In-stock parts VitalParts HSC912-M3-12-A4 and HN934-M3-C6-BZP; product pages read on 2026-10-11; standard parts do not scale with the tower size. HS2.5 hex key supplied separately. Only for initial assembly/maintenance of the main axle cap; no screws need removing for daily use.
  3. Current main axle Ø12 with an 18 × 14 × 4 bottom head; the shaft runs from Z4 to 162, total printed length 162 mm; top cap Ø20 × 6; the M3 nut sits at H−11 to H−8.6, the 12 mm screw tail at H−12 and the blind hole bottom at H−13; the full nut thickness is within the full thread with 1 mm of clearance at the tail. Lock post Ø8 with a 14 × 2.4 × 2.4 bottom cross key, printed length 162.2 mm; both long axles are fully provided.
  4. Closed print envelope 220 × 150 × 165 mm; the recommended metal screw head sits 3 mm above the upper cap. Level pitch 50.67, swing tray height 47.32; 3 × 2 cells per level, each 50.00 × 51.87 × 41.97 mm clear. Inner tray floor 2 mm; 0.35 single-side clearance: gap g between the tray and the fixed lid opening, 2g between the inner tray wall and the lid.
  5. Assemble empty from the bottom up: the base plate's short stop goes into the first swing tray's lower fan slot, then lower the cell tray; the fixed plate's rectangular tongues slide from +X to −X into the matching ridge slots with the axle holes aligned; repeat for each level. First push the M3 nut flat into the hex seat through the upper side window of the printed axle before it is inserted. With the last plate inserted and every tray closed, lay the empty rack on its side and hold the stack; insert the complete main axle (nut already fitted) from the bottom +Z (rectangular bottom head into the base recess), then drop the retaining cap on from above and fit the M3×12. The tool goes straight into the HS2.5 hole from the top; once the axle is in, the side window is surrounded by the tray collar; do not push a nut in there, and do not loosen the axle to add rotation clearance.
  6. Day to day, lift the corner lock post head 1.4 mm first so the 1.2 mm rigid teeth leave the top plate pocket; the top of the bottom cross key is now at 4.6 mm and the cavity top at 5.2 mm, still leaving 0.6 mm of rotation clearance. Turn by hand 90° so the bottom key lines up with all the key slots along X, then pull the whole pin up; keep the loose pin on the desk separately; it is not fully captive. First confirm by hand, level by level, that every tray is flush and closed, then insert the pin from the top to the bottom cavity and turn 90° so the bottom key lines up with Y and drops into the teeth. The lock post only holds trays that are already closed and is not an automatic return detector: on a tray opened further the lock ear leaves the pin path; inserting the pin does not replace checking each level, and do not force it.
  7. At least 175 mm of free working space is needed above to pull out the whole lock post; when working near a shelf board, first move the whole tower horizontally to a desk with clearance; do not treat lifting the pin a few millimeters as releasing every level. Holding the bottom, turn the target tray from 0 to the −90° working position; other levels stay in place; the lower fan slot and fixed stop block stop beyond about −92°/+4°; the working position uses only 0 to −90°.
  8. Reference per cell: a closed 20 × 18 × 12 mm accessory pack and two Ø5 hardware envelopes; once full, take/place items one by one straight up from the tray turned to −90°. Pinch from both sides along the item's 20 mm direction with two Ø10 fingers; do not force out a closed tray that is still covered by the fixed plate. To service the cell tray, empty it and turn the swing tray to −90°; push two Ø10 fingers up from below through the Ø12 push hole in the swing tray floor to raise the complete inner tray above the swing tray rim; grip with the other hand from the raised outer wall. The cell tray itself has a complete 2 mm floor; the push holes do not open into the storage cells; this inner tray is removable but is not a fully loaded carrying basket.
  9. Maintenance from the top down: empty, withdraw the lock post, lay it on its side and hold the stack; remove the M3/retaining cap and pull the whole main axle out from the bottom; slide the top fixed plate out of the ridge slots toward +X, then lift off the top tray and cell tray, working down. Until the main axle is pulled, the plate holes stay captured by the axle; do not treat a loosened cap as a removable plate. The bottom head/cap keeps the axle from falling out geometrically; it is not tested impact retention.
  10. Return and close each level by hand and drop the lift-and-turn lock, then carry it supported from below with both hands. No handle; full-load one-handed carrying, tip resistance, vibration resistance, reliable toolbox transport or real mixing prevention are not claimed. Not for fine threads, powders, bare hooks or liquids; the fan slot walls and the long printed axle need review with an interface sample and support/layer direction check.
  11. Base frame bottom, trays and cell trays bottom on the bed; review supports for the shelf tongues and short stops, the ridge slot top edges, the rod nut side window and the retaining cap lower hole. The long main axle and lock post must be printed in full; no metal-grade strength is promised. Check slicing and test-print before printing; before use, check full-load stability, load-bearing, friction, creep and durability of repeated turning.

Import into your slicer in millimeters and check build volume, orientation and supports for each part. Test-print lids, drawers and connectors first, and print the full set once the fit is confirmed.
